Application
1.Thymine is a nitrogenous base component in the nucleic acid of DNA.
2.A nucleobase found in deoxyribonucleic acids (DNA).
3.As a intermediate for Zidovudine.
4.As material for Thymidine

A pyrimidine base isolated from the thymus. It is soluble in hot water and can be decomposed at 335-337°C. The thymine (T) in one strand of the DNA molecule is paired with adenine (A) in the other strand to form two hydrogen bonds, which is one of the important forces for the stability of the DNA double helix structure.
It is a key intermediate in the synthesis of the anti-AIDS drugs AZT, DDT and related drugs. Upstream raw materials: glacial acetic acid, butyl acetate, methanol, methyl methacrylate, urea, hydrochloric acid, ethanol. Can also be synthesised by chemical methods. Used in drug manufacturing. Thymine is one of the bases in deoxyribonucleic acid. It can be combined with deoxyribose to form a deoxyribonucleoside of thymine, the product of which is called trifluorothymidine deoxyribonucleoside after the hydrogen at the 5-position methyl group is replaced by fluorine.
